Putter Length

When most golfers think about club fitting, the putter usually doesn’t come into mind.

I mean, how much difference can the putter actually make?

A proper fit would allow for your arms to be slightly bent, with your hands hanging comfortably underneath your shoulders.

You don’t want to be reaching for the ball, and make sure the sole of the putter head is resting flat on the putting surface.

Let’s think about this. Why do most putters for men have a “standard” length of 35-inches? Biomechanics? Swingweight?

No. It may be hard to believe, but the reason for this standard length of putters is that most golf bags are 34 inches tall.

Remember, putting equates to almost half of the shots you take in a given round.

The importance of putting is often overlooked but the statistics prove its importance.
